"An unexpected sequel" author said in the Acknowledgements. Really! I just want to deduct a star from the previous book because she didn't intend to write this book. Previous book's ending wasn't satisfactory for me. I rated that book because I had in mind that there is a sequel..!!Anyway, forget it! Let me start the review. This book was pretty amazing. But I found the previous one more amazing. Remember I said that beginning of the previous book is quite uneventful. In contrast, this book has
I've spent the last week rereading Jessica Day George's oh-so-lovely dragon series starring Creel, Prince Luka, and their dragon friends. One war with the dragons is over and done with, but, a second is about to begin. And this time, it may not be an evil human controlling the dragons through alchemy, but, an evil dragon controlling a human king controlling dragons through alchemy. Not that Creel could guess that before she slips off to her second war as a spy. (She doesn't go into enemy

These books are so much fun to read. The characters are great, the dragons are amazing, and the main character Creel is a bad ass. She's a smart heroine, and not one of those MCs where the author says they're smart but than the character constantly does stupid stuff. Creel is the real deal: intelligent, no-nonsense, sarcastic but also incredibly kind-hearted and I love her!
When I looked up Dragon Slippers to reread my childhood fave, I had no idea that there was a second and third book! The first ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, so probably I just was not very good at pursuing books in the library when I was a child. But I was happy to find I really liked this one too, even if it didn't have the familiarity of my youth.I liked the flipping of the dynamics from the first book, and I liked the deeper look into alchemy as a practice. It might be 4.5 out of 5 though,
How I love this series...I don't even know if I can express how awesome they are. Obviously the second book doesn't have that "first book charm" that first books do...but it is an awesome sequel. There is always more to learn about the dragons, and the plot was really awesome as well. And, of course, I love Creel and Luka. And Marta and Tobin...and all the dragons...and everyone. I just love this series! It's awesome enough that I still notice new things after multiple times reading, and yet
The start of Dragon Flight begins where Dragon Slippers leaves us...that is, Creel (Heroine of the Dragon War) is creating magnifient gowns for Isla (soon to be married to Prince Miles) with her partner Marta. These two girls are very busy since their dressmaking and embroidery skills are exceptional. But, when news of an imminent invasion by Citatie soldiers is coming, Creel and Marta are up to the task of joining forces with her dragon friends, Shardas and Feniul to meet the enemy. Prince Luka

Narration Conducive To Books Dragon Flight (Dragon Slippers #2)
With the Dragon Wars over, Creel finds herself bored with life as a seamstress. Then word comes that a bordering country has been breeding dragons in preparation for an invasion. Never one to sit around, Creel throws herself headlong into an adventure that will reunite her with her dragon friend Shardas, pit her against a vicious new enemy and perhaps rekindle a friendship with Prince Luka that seems to have gone cold. Funny, heart-felt, and action packed, this is a sequel that will satisfy on every level.

This book entertained and enchanted me just as much as the first one, Dragon Slippers, if not more. Everything that the author set up in the first book was carried through perfectly into the second. Dragon Slippers was one of those books that didnt quite *need* a sequel, but definitely benefited from one. I felt that the story of Creel wasnt quite tied up yet, and Dragon Flight completed her story nicely. After this, I can be happy without any more tales about Creel, though I wouldnt argue if"An unexpected sequel" author said in the Acknowledgements. Really!
