Wow! I zip through the Kindle sample and then finish the entire book in a couple of hours. Super story, superbly written (Gemmell style: fast pace, flowing sentences and easy to read). This is a very good action oriented heroic fantasy. I personally love sword and sorcery stories and I found more then my share with this novel (as most Gemmell books). Waylander is a cool bad ass character like no other. So if you like well written, quality action fantasy and sorcery you will like this book.

Enjoyed re-re-reading this book, but it's not his best work. Still, a mediocre Gemmell book beats most others across the board.

This book has everything. The only problem is that everything happens in the last 120, or so, pages.
