I adored returning to this series that I first read in high school. I think my rating is boosted by nostalgia, but I did enjoy the story.

And now finally, we come to the fifth and final book in Megan McCafferty's Jessica Darling series. Jessica hasn't seen or heard from Marcus Flutie after finally breaking things off three years earlier when he asked her to marry him. As she is hurrying to catch a flight for Bridget and Percy's wedding(!), Jessica literally runs smack into Marcus. Utterly unprepared for any such meeting, Jessica and Marcus both find themselves questioning their past relationship and if fate truly had a hand in



What a disappointment.Perfect Fifths basically reads like a Fanfic. A Fanfic for those who didnt like the ending of book 4.In my opinion, this book was completely unnecessary and I think the author secretely thought so, too, seeing as she couldnt even come up with a real story. One third of the book consists of weird poems or dialogues in the fashion of[Pause]"Have you Googled me?"[Pause]"No.""Not once?""No."[Pause]Way to come up with the required number of pages...To everyone who contemplates

I'd like to preface this review with two things. First off, I have never felt compelled to write a book review until now. Secondly, the phrase "chick lit" is enough to make me run for the hills, as 99% of the books in this "literary" genre are at best cloyingly cliche, and at worst insultingly stupid.This series, however, changed my life.Shortly before Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows came out, there were a bunch of articles floating around about readers possibly experiencing depression

I read this when I was a ...sophomore?... in high school, and remember swooning over it. ... Erm, not so much anymore. I realize I actually cant stand Jessica, which makes sense because I cant stand most adolescents (even though Jessica is 26 here; however, she is not emotionally 26) Shes permanently infantile, Im convinced. The writing showcases a Jane Austen style of hyper-focus, bordering on autism. Also, please just fucking write some sex scenes already!

I was disappointed in the changed format, as I much preferred being privy to Jessicas neurotic, snobbish, and judgmental inner voice. She is one witty wench and I was saddened to see her words rather than read her thoughts. Nonetheless, Im glad that the series concluded in the manner that it did, that there is some semblance of direction for our choosy heroine and that she has mind-f*ck Flutie to keep her company along the way.
